Oak kill me

Sadly, after centuries of struggling to survive, watching history unfold, these beautiful old heritage oak trees have become the target for destruction by the City of Schertz, Texas. The city's councilmen have determined, that in the interest of "progress", they choose to destroy these beautiful specimens of Nature's lasting beauty.  Without any reasonable consideration as to what these giants have endured and the history they have witnessed for hundreds of years, what they mean to the people around them, what they mean to the land, soil, air, human life and wildlife, what they signify to all Texans, the City of Schertz and the developers decided it is not possible to preserve these ancient trees.  Future generations of Texans will only have photos of what Schertz Oak Trees looked like before the City decided to destroy them.

One half mile south of the current destruction, is the last stand of heritage oak trees along 1518, the Woman Hollering Oaks.  They are already being targeted for the next mass destruction.
